Frequently Asked Questions
Is ScentIQ an official AKC Scent Work app?
No. Scent IQ is an independent app designed to help handlers track events, runs, hides, judges, Q/NQ results, titles, and performance analytics. It is not affiliated with the American Kennel Club.
Does ScentIQ retrieve official results or data from the AKC website?
No. Scent IQ does not import results or data from the AKC. Everything in the app is based on what you enter.
If you add an AKC event number, Scent IQ can provide a direct link to the official AKC results page once results are posted. That link is simply there so you can cross-check your records against AKC’s official results.
Does Scent IQ track hides and search areas?
Yes. Scent IQ can track detailed hide-level and area-level information, including odor, height, location type, search conditions, results, and more.
Do I need a subscription?
You can download Scent IQ for free and use the included tools without subscribing.
A subscription unlocks the full connected experience, including event entry, search tracking, hide details, automatic title and leg tracking, performance analytics, cloud sync, and data export.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Subscribers get secure cloud storage and sync across devices. If you lose or replace a phone, your data will be waiting when you log back in.
If your subscription lapses, your cloud data is preserved and will be available again if you resubscribe.
Is my data shared?
No. Your data is your data. Scent IQ does not sell, share, or send your information to anyone. Your data is used only within the app for your own experience.
Can Scent IQ be used for NACSW?
Not yet. Scent IQ currently supports AKC Scent Work.
NACSW support is planned for a future version, but I do not have a timeline yet. Scent work trials are complex, and adding another organization needs to be done carefully so the app stays accurate, useful, and easy to use.
